As we gather this Lenten and Easter season to celebrate the most magnificent truth of our faith: Christ is risen, and death has been defeated! I would like to make some connections between Easter and the Lamb of God.

SONGS OF FAITH THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: "O LOVE, HOW DEEP, HOW BROAD, HOW HIGH" - This excellent hymn beautifully sets the fullness of the Gospel about as well as can be accomplished in a few brief stanzas. Praise be to God that He Himself pleads for us with a love that is deeper, broader, and higher than we can ever fathom!

GOD’S PROVISION, OUR STEWARDSHIP. In the fall of 2025, I was approached by some folks at our church about writing a grant for the Children’s Ministry Program.  They shared the requirements and procedures for applying for an “Angel Tear Ministry” grant from Concordia Lutheran Ministries... I am so pleased to announce that they have chosen to award SMPC's Children’s Ministry Program with $9,000.

SECURING NEW RESOURCES: THE ANGEL TEAR GRANT FUELS THE BACKPACK MISSION. The chairperson of SMPC's Backpack Committee was approached by a board member of the Angel Tear Grant Committee in October 2025.
