MUSIC for WORSHIP
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Colossians 3:16

Our first priority in music at SMPC is to help to lead our congregation into God honoring worship through song! We sing a wide variety of Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs in our worship together each week. Click below to listen to the songs we sing.
(Songs we will sing in 10am worship the coming Sunday are the first 5 or 6 at the top of the list - updated midweek.)
CONCERT SERIES
In the fall of 2024, we began hosting the first concerts in a brand new series for the Saxonburg community. All concerts are free to attend! The goal of the series is to bring high quality music that is family friendly and easily accessible to everyone in our community. Click below learn more about the series, and check out what's playing next.
JOIN the MUSIC TEAM
Joining a music group is one of the best ways to meet people and build community, especially in the Church. Consider whether the Lord is calling you to join and serve in one of these musical ways.
Contact Dan at music@saxonburg.org to get started!
'In the Light' Worship Band (ITL)
The band helps to lead worship weekly at our 10:00 am service. We rehearse Thursdays at 8:00 pm. We play a wide variety of styles to keep things interesting.
New instrumentalists and singers are always welcome. Play an instrument? Want to LEARN to play one? Come jam with us on a Thursday night. You don't need a special invitation! Just come to enjoy making music to the glory of God. Walk-ins welcome.
Choir
Our choir meets Thursdays at 7:00 pm from September through May. The choir sings at least two times per month to enhance our worship services with beautiful music. Come and join us! You do *not* need to have experience singing in a choir, or even reading music - just bring your voice and a desire to praise the Lord in song!
Easter Choir + Brass
Each year we are happy to augment our "regular" choir with all you folks who love to sing but are not able to make a longer term commitment to choir right now. We have 5 rehearsals, and sing on both Palm Sunday and Easter! It really is a wonderful time sharing in song God's great love for us - that He gave His only Son so that we might LIVE.

Children's Choir
Kids Pre-K through 6th Grade are invited to sing! Children's choir meets periodically throughout the year to sing in the 10:00 am service and our annual Christmas Cantata. While in session, we rehearse on Sundays right after the 10:00 am worship service. We begin around 11:10 and rehearsals last just 20 minutes. (Exact start time can vary depending on the worship service that morning.) Done in plenty of time for lunch!

2026 Winter-Spring Session

SING Palm Sunday, March 29 at the 10am service. Meet for final run through at 9:30 am.
Senior Living Hymn Sings
On the First Thursdays of most months, at 6:30 pm, we join to encourage our neighbors living nearby in senior living centers. We share hymns, Scripture, and pray together. It is a special and encouraging time for both us and the residents. This time replaces our regular rehearsal on these nights. You do not need to be a “regular” on our music team to come. It is a simple hymn sing that anyone can join - the more the merrier!
(No senior hymn sing in September, due to the start of choir rehearsals.)
Cantata Choir
Our annual Christmas Cantata takes place the second weekend in December each year. We pull out all the stops! Live orchestra, band, choir, and soloists combine to create a truly inspiring and memorable musical worship experience that is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit! Cantata choir is open to all members of our community. You do not need to be a regular attender at our church to be part of this wonderful time.
